Laboratory

The Stuyvesant Environmental Contracting uses the vast experience of Boskalis Dolman’s laboratory in the Netherlands. This Laboratory focuses primarily on supporting the projects of all Royal Boskalis Westminster groups of companies. Stuyvesant Environmental Contracting itself specifically uses this service in support of process control for existing projects and treatability studies for potential projects. The laboratory also provides services in the field of marine work and other civil related activities of Royal Boskalis Westminster nv.

The laboratory's activities include soil and waterbed surveys during preparations for project tenders, the monitoring of process quality during a project, physical analyses of soil and sediment material, and setting up 'project' laboratories on site. The laboratory work for major activities will normally be performed at the state-of-the-art geotechnical laboratory in Papendrecht, The Netherlands. We will arrange for the shipment and permits necessary to deliver the various samples from North America to the lab. In other cases, limited by time or other constraints, we utilize support facilities in the US, or at existing project sites.

The laboratory also has the availability of a mobile treatability laboratories. These laboratores are constructed in 20 foot sea containers and can easily be transported to project locations around the world to perform treatability testing. Capabilities of this service include oversize and sand separation, stabilization and mechanical dewatering

As well as conducting physical analyses, the laboratory also maintains good contacts with external chemical laboratories and research firms for the purposes of soil surveys and a wide range of analyses. This means that the the Boskalis Dolman laboratory can provide full support.
