As part of the integrated approach it is important to have a good understanding of the characteristics of the soils or sediments to be managed on a job site. An extensive sampling campaign can be part of achieving this goal. Treatability testing is also part of the design of a processing plant. Stuyvesant Environmental Contracting designed a mobile treatability test set-up that can be easy transported to the project location. The test facility exists of laboratory scale separation equipment, stabilization/solidification equipment and mechanical dewatering equipment.
